Your journey begins with a drive from Moshi to the Shira Gate, where after completing the necessary park formalities, we shuttle to the Shira Ridge. Our trek starts amid the heather and moorland of the Shira Plateau with gentle ascents and spectacular views of Mount Meru floating in the clouds. Tonight, you'll rest at Simba Camp, gazing at the stars that blanket the vast African sky.

Elevation: 3,505m to 3,900m
Distance: 10 km
Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
Habitat: Moorland
Today's trek traverses the expansive landscapes of the Shira Plateau. You'll witness the grandeur of the volcanic rock formations and encounter an array of alpine flora and fauna. The increasing altitude offers a panoramic vista of the great Rift Valley. We make camp at Shira 2, nestled among the giant lobelias and wildflowers.

Elevation: 3,900m to 4,600m to 3,960m
