Best Time To Climb Kilimanjaro

January to March

The weather in the first few months after the short rainy season is generally warm and dry. Away from the high season so relatively quiet, this is one of our favourite times to climb Kilimanjaro. The days are mainly dry, beautifully clear with few clouds and occasional brief showers.

Dry and quiet

April and May

The long rainy season in Tanzania normally occurs in April and May although it has become more unpredictable in recent years. If you don't mind the rain you can have the mountain pretty much to yourself. And bear in mind you can nearly always get a good discount in this period.

Long rainy season

June to early November

June to early November are the driest months for your Kilimanjaro climb but particularly during August to October this means the mountain is very busy. The shoulder months of June and July and early November are good compromises if a little rain doesn't deter you.

Dry but busy

November to mid-December

The short rainy season normally starts towards the back end of November and continues for 3-4 weeks. Generally rain is less persistent than in the main rains and so this is a good time to be on the mountain without the crowds.

A truly wonderful experience in every way.

Hi, We thought would send an e-mail to thank you for a wonderful Kilimanjaro experience. We had a fabulous time in Tanzania. Patrick Belo our Mountain guide was with us right through the trip and he was brilliant. He was always there to help and he was a very good mountain guide in Kilimanjaro. If we had to rate him on percentage we would give him 100%. All the guides and porters get the same rating of 100%. All of them were very skilled and friendly and we cannot fault them. Patrick Belo was with us for the most time and he certainly provided a very good service. In fact everyone we met in Kilimanjaro was very friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to go back. It was a pity that we trek during a heavy rainy season, but it did not spoil the trip and it gives us a good excuse to go back to Tanzania. Possibly next year. We would also like to include a wildlife safari next time. According to Patrick we would have a chance to see the famous wildebeest migration in Serengeti national park. We would like to go anyway so we’ll have to have a think about what to do later on and then we will contact you again. Thanks again to Kilimanjaro Centre for Trekking – KCTE and all the people we came into contact with in Tanzania for a truly wonderful experience.

A great experience

It is cheering enough to see that there are still such wild areas left in this world. The Parks of Tanzania will surely not disappoint a traveler. A well organized and coordinated tour such as we experienced with Kilimanjaro Centre For Trekking and Ecotourism (KCTE) really enhanced our journey. If we plan to return for a safari in Africa definitely it will be with KCTE and mr Patrick Bitwale. I definitely recommend this company.

It was one of the best trip I ever had.

One week before arriving Habibu Mtumwa made contact with me and wanted to get to know our group. After arriving three day before Habibu came to my room and introduced himself in person and advised us he would attend the hotel at 4:00 the day before and explain the trip and make sure we had the right equipment and what food we liked, On day one Habibu introduced assistant guide Msabaha and Sokolo and our adventure started. We would not have summit if it wasn’t for the superb effort by these three guides. I can not say enough about their effort to get us to the summit. I will always remember their extraordinary effort to get all four of us to the summit. Always will be in our hearts. The safari was a 5 day and was also very good Hailes Kombe tried his best to get the best positions for picture taking and cleaned the vehicle every night. Thanks to Kilimanjaro Centre for Trekking It was and absolutely fabulous trip. You exceeded our every expectation. Thank you again

The best Kilimanjaro and safari operator

Kilimanjaro Center arranged our trek and honeymoon safari from start to finish, each minute of our journey was wonderful. Flights, lodging, and food were taken care of and our safari was truly tailored to fit our travel style and budget. Both my husband and I have no hesitation in recommending Kilimanjaro Center For Trekking and Ecotourism – KCTE to any traveler visiting Tanzania.
