Day 1: Moshi to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Your expedition begins with a scenic drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, where you'll complete park formalities. From here, a short drive leads to the Lemosho trailhead. As you embark on the trek, you'll be enveloped by the lush rainforest canopy, home to colobus monkeys and vibrant birdlife. The trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp is gentle, perfect for easing into the . Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Today's journey transitions from the rainforest into the expansive moorland zone, offering your first views of the Kibo . The path steepens somewhat, and as the air thins, your guide will ensure you're pacing yourself appropriately. Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut via Shira 2

This stretch is crucial for acclimatization, with a gentle trek across the plateau leading to Shira 2 Camp. Ascending to the Lava Tower, this day is pivotal for acclimatization, with the route reaching its highest point at Lava Tower (4,640m) before descending to the picturesque Barranco Camp. Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Start your day conquering the Barranco Wall; an exhilarating scramble that offers some of the route's most splendid views. The trail then winds up and down several ridges to Karanga Camp. Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

  • Elevation: 3,995m to 4,673m
  • Distance: 4 km
  • Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
  • Environment: Alpine desert

The trek to Barafu Camp involves a climb through barren landscapes with expansive views. Arriving at camp, you'll rest and enjoy an early dinner to prepare for the summit attempt. The anticipation builds as you retire early to rest up for the night ascent. Overnight at Barafu Camp.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

  • Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m (Summit) to 3,068m
  • Distance: 5 km ascent + 12 km descent
  • Trekking Time: 7-8 hours ascent + 4-6 hours descent
  • Environment: Arctic

Depart just after midnight for the summit push: a strenuous trek to Stella Point on the crater rim, followed by a more manageable hike to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Embrace the overwhelming sense of achievement at the summit, observing the iconic glaciers and taking photos. Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi

  • Elevation: 3,068m to 1,640m
  • Distance: 10 km
  • Trekking Time: 3-4 hours
  • Environment: Rainforest

The final descent takes you through the lush rainforest, back to Mweka Gate. Here, you'll receive your summit certificates. A KCTE vehicle awaits to take you back to your hotel in Moshi. Cherish the comforts of a warm shower and a celebratory dinner as you reflect on your monumental achievement.

Day 9: Departure Day
After a restful night and breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, a KCTE representative will transport you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. Your incredible journey scaling the heights of Kilimanjaro has hopefully exceeded your expectations and created lasting memories.
